About Us
The Melrose Paths Group comprises volunteers from Melrose and the surrounding local communities. Our aim is to promote and help maintain a sustainable path network around the town giving access to the local countryside with its heritage and attractions.
Since 2004 when we were first established we have developed and expanded the path network for both locals and the many visitors to the town to enjoy. This has been achieved with valuable support from the local businesses and hoteliers in the town. These supporters have helped us make the Paths around Melrose booklet available to the visitors and many of them are also happy to display our free-of-charge walk leaflets.
The Paths group has also provided a number of conveniently placed benches along the walk routes for weary walkers.
Melrose Paths Group is now pleased to be a member of the South of Scotland Destination Alliance (SSDA) and to be associated with its Scotland Starts Here campaign to highlight the South of Scotland as a visitor destination.
